Alright, I have hardcore fallen off the wagon with this challenge, but I’m getting back on this week! The theme is “spring” and I totally did spring-y nails this week without even planning to! The boyfriend went to Korea for a training exercise and asked what I wanted him
OH MY GOODNESS BIGGEST NEWS EVER. Okay actually it’s not big news at all, but I managed to make cherry blossoms that looked GOOD for the first time EVER. I think having good brushes for art really helps. This is what happened last time I attempted cherry blossoms. If
I’m super psyched about this whole spring thing, although after this weekend it’s going to go back to being cold. The weather is calling for snow on Tuesday again. BUT I don’t care! It is officially spring and I am painting PINK ON MY NAILS ALL DAY
Happy Valentines’ Day, everyone! I spent the morning digging my car out so I could go to my all-important job that my managers do not feel I could accomplish at home. (I could. How do they think I graduated college if I wasn’t capable of working at home?). But
This manicure I’m using for three purposes! I’m still participating in the Strum my Heartstrings challenge by The Lacquered Landlubber, but I also wanted to participate in my first actual nail art competition! Nail Art Canada is having a Valentines’ nail art competition, and I’m really excited
So I decided to join, for the first time ever, a daily nail art challenge for Valentines’ Day! It’s hosted by The Lacquered Landlubber (who has the cutest blog style ever and you just have to love that name!). We’ll see how this goes! One thing I figured
Oh my goodness you guys, these may be one of my favorite manicures EVER. It is absolutely some of my very best art, and all free-hand, so I am very proud. I realized that in all my themed manicures, I was missing out on making any real spring manicures! I
With UNICORNS! So I bought a second set of stamping plates online, these from Winstonia, and I bought them because one of the full nail plates is wood grain and that is awesome. Didn’t even look at the other plates, I was sold on that one on its own.
I know I’ve mentioned my new stamps before and I just LOVE them. These nails were inspired by the most adorable plate of monsters. Or aliens. Or maybe animated germs? These plates are ridiculously reflective; you can see my phone and the fact that I just showered and my
I cannot for the life of me remember if I saw these somewhere in other colors, or if I thought of them myself, but it is more than likely that I saw them somewhere and imitated them. Mostly I was excited about my new purple color from Revlon. I think
These nails were an obnoxious idea and I just did not love the execution either. In fact I kind of hated them and re-did them after a day. They would have been better if I had done two coats of a green under the glitter instead of only one. Yuck.
As much as I love red, I wanted to go more delicate for Valentine’s Day. Pink, Pink, Pink! And who doesn’t love rhinestones? Loooove that Kleancolor holograpphics brand.
People kept thinking these were red! Hopefully it’s a product of being contrasted with a white design, as that color is a very pretty dark pink, like a nice magenta really.
I took these from a tutorial from one of my absolute favorite blogs, Very Emily. Here is the tutorial. Mine came out MUCH more abstract, but while they are very different, and hers are artistically much more advanced, I actually still think mine look like I can do art. As
